Corden's Market photo album

Pictured above are Pierce S. Corden, founder of the original Corden's Market and his wife, Catherine McCormack Corden. They were married for nearly 40 years and had nine children, 6 boys and 3 girls. Catherine passed away on December 8, 1939. Pierce, also known as PS, operated Corden's Market until he retired in 1950 at the age of 78.  Several of his sons and grandsons helped him in the market and continued its operation long after Pierce passed away on December 2, 1951.

Pierce Corden is shown here standing in front of the market wearing a white apron. The market was originally called the Junction Cash Grocery when it was acquired by Pierce in 1905. He soon changed the name to Corden's Market.

This is a picture of Corden's Market as it was in the 1920's. Pierce S. Corden is the man in the middle wearing the white coat, one of his 6 sons, Cy, is standing behind the cash register. The other men in the photo are unidentified.
